Jenny (with whom I am staying) came in just as I had finished, as she was meeting someone for a cup of tea later in the day; so, we headed up to the Bath Assembly Rooms for a visit, but unfortunately the historic rooms (which is what I wanted to see) were closed for a private function. However, that gave us an opportunity to just wander the streets for a while, enjoying the atmosphere of Bath - I am still getting used to the idea that Summer is officially just around the corner and the skies are still grey, there is light rain from time-to-time, and I am wearing 2-3 layers of clothing!
After we parted, I headed to the Holburne Museum at the end of Great Pultney Street; the city's first public art gallery, the Grade I listed building (Georgian of course), which at one time was a hotel, is home to fine and decorative arts built around the collection of Sir William Holburne.
The current special exhibition is works by Julian Opie (considered one of the UK's most important and successful contemporary artists); while I didn't go in, there was one of his works (an electronic display of a woman walking) in the foyer - I was able to get these shots (just for fun):
Continuing my wanderings, I captured these shots of the Guildhall Market signs, which I quite liked:
