My accommodation in Heidelberg has views of the famous castle from the windows! As it was a fairly late arrival, I will leave exploring the city until tomorrow. However I did manage to head up the hill behind the apartment (to a section of road called The Philosopher's Way - so-named because whenever the university tried [and perhaps still tries] to get someone [with a PhD or Doctor of Philosophy] to take up an appointment, they brought/bring them here - they saw/see the view and signed/sign up immediately) for some fantastic, expansive views across the river, the old town, and to the castle; and then I had to cross the Old Bridge (Carl Theodore Bridge) to get to a supermarket to buy some food - so here are a few "teasers":
